Bernard Hancock - Freedom Conservative Party Candidate for Grand Prairie
A longtime service rig hand and loyal roughneck, Bernard has called Grande Prairie home for many years. After things became difficult for the economy in general and for the oil and gas industry in particular, Bernard began to speak out as an advocate for the oft-forgotten working class of Alberta. Across the province, country and in major media, Bernard consistently and unapologetically stands up for the interests of all Albertans.
After coming to the conclusion that whether liberal or conservative, no politician is to be trusted, Bernard feels the best way for him to serve his community is to challenge the status quo by seeking elected office. A proponent of local, grassroots representation, Bernard believes in constituents over the party and wants to prioritize what is best for the Swan City, not what is best for Calgary or Edmonton.
“I will never apologize for what it is that makes Alberta great. The people. And I will always place the role of friends, family, faith and community spirit above that of government. Grande Prairie has limitless potential, and I want to see our city to regain its place as a shining beacon of opportunity for anyone who wants to work hard and prosper like it was when I first moved here. If you are sick and tired of entitlement, complacency, and party politics, I’m your man. Politics is greasy, but nobody works better in greasy environments than a roughneck.”
